After some relative 2-3 years of relative stagnation, the last months have been
quite exciting, with the advent of not only Fruit and of course Rybka, but also
a much improved Fritz 9 and even more amazing Hiarcs 10. I think it may be as
strong as Fruit 2.2 now using the plain Hypermodern setting. That's an enormous
leap forward from Hiarcs 9, especially as I recall the general belief that it
would only catch up with Shredder, but not surpass it. And of course the future
is even rosier with Fruit and Shredder on the building blocks, and of course the
still improving Rybka.

And not to mention the clash of the veteran bookmakers, you and Noomen. ;-)
