That isnt a sound question. It has already been answered by history. Of course
CB has nothing to fear from such ideosyncratic novelties. Look at Ed Schröders
REBEL. That was a strong program, strong as hell. It did also beat Anand!! But
it was a DOS program and it couldnt even handle game notation with variations. I
speak on behalf of three billion people worldwide if I say now that if a really
strong master program or human player appeared who would only understand Chinese
dialect from HuangZhin, then I and CCC and all these 3 billion people wouldnt
lift a single eyebrow! I wouldnt care at all. I would still use Fritz and
ChessBase even if Fritz played in the Third Legue of the next WCCCCC! I would
give a damn s___ about FRUIT, RYBKA or whatever, as long as this here is such a
hoax event that you all ignore 300 fine and really creative chessengines and
only give your support for the engine that was presented with the greatest
ballyhoo. The other day my attention was directed to The Thinker - WOW! - a
brilliant program with a strength of over 2700 and all what your heart could
need. Why wasting so much time with Rybka? I ask that question for the single
reason that you dont support or waste your energies in favor of the rest of the
299 engines. I dont like such arbitrariness! And unfairness. And lack of
sportsman's ship...
