Rybka has 555 customers based on what is written there.

I believe that some hundreds paid for rybka instead of paying for a chessbase
products.

Rybka has no copy protection so my guess is that many of the users that are
potential buyers of chessbase even did not buy it and got it from friends and
most of these people are not going to buy Fritz version that is not stronger
even if they cannot get it from friends.
