I ask because that looks like a Windows >95/98/ME error message. You are right! I'm using Win98 on the XP2400+ and WinXP on the other one. More info! I have now found that Fruit/Toga have the same problem. I have also noticed other quirks about the 256M barrier. If I set Shredder 9UCI to even 400M it has no problem (In Shredder 9UCI GUI). In the Fritz 8 GUI Fritz 8 has no problem but Junior 8/9 acts funny. When setting the Ram at 256M or higher with Junior/Hiarcs it shows a little white box saying hash tables were set at 256M but when I click "new game" it shows only half as much hash. Like if I set hash at 288M it shows up as 144M. Does anybody with Windows 98 have this problem? Jim
