I find this to be a bogus marketing strategy by Millenium. Why the consumer
should be forced to buy a product which is not up to par with the promise (false
advertisement concerning Genius 6 interface), and pay a high fee for the product
when there are other chess programs available at a cheaper price? It's very
disheartening that Millenium prefers to phase out a chess engine because of the
lack of interested, and it seems that Millenium does not get the hint that
consumers are not willing to pay 200 DM for a chess engine, and instead of
overcharging for their product Millenium could drop their price to 100 DM, and
remain competitive. However, it seems that Millenium needs a course in
Economics, especially about Supply and Demand.
