Subject: WMCCC predictions (Is there a Human Computer out there?)

Well what are the early choices/rankings for Computer Chess Champion?

What about Crafty, will Bob be there on a 32 processor experimental
Dec machine running at 1GHZ/processor?

Also, I have been a long time believer that the Top Programs should
be allowed to compete for the World Chess Champion, I wonder if any
Human GM's are up to the task of competing against the Programs this
year? How would Kamsky do? I am interested in opinions, but I would
be more interested in real participants (GM Soltis maybe, got the
better of DBjr in one game). I loved watching Chess Genius rip the
GM's in the old PCA events (Kaspy got beat, Anand held his own).

My opinion, Human GM would do well (top 3 finish), but would wear
down and not win the whole thing (see Kaspy vs Deeper Blue). Several
GM participants would be better, but should play each other as well.
I think this would be a marketing dream. Intel and AMD where are you?

Wish a GM or two would play and prove me wrong. I would love to see
the Programs go down in flames, but my opinion is the GM's would be
left burning (or at least smoldering). :)

Best Regards,
Chris Carson
