The page: http://www.cirl.uoregon.edu/research/partitionSearch.html discusses "partition search", and gives a paper. While applied in bridge software, it seems like it might be applicable to chess, as might the techniques discussed on: http://www.cirl.uoregon.edu/research/sysMethods.html Has anyone used these in chess? - Richard ====== free bridge software =================== The "master page" for computer bridge is: http://www.mcn.net/~jimloy/review2.html#free which has a list of freely downloadable computer bridge games. The files themselves are available through links, or by searching for bridge at http://www.download.com Seems to be mainly demos and shareware, rather than freeware.
