I do not agree about the division to 2 types of programs.

I found that sometimes slow searchers may be better than fast searchers in
tactics.

Chessmaster is sometimes better in tactics than fast searchers and Hiarcs7 is
also good at tactics.

I also found that fast searchers show sometimes better positional understanding
relative to slow searchers.

Fritz5.32 won some games against hiarcs7 in the ssdf games because of better
positional understanding and not because of a combination.

Junior5 showed better positional understanding of king's safety relative to
Hiarcs7 in enrique's games.
