I think I understand rule #4 just fine, and it is clear to me that Vasik did not
violate it.  Perhaps you don't know what an exhortation is?  Vasik didn't even
mildly suggest that anyone do anything, much less exhort them.  If you suggest
that discussing his potential marketing plans nonetheless has an intended effect
of causing people to buy his program, you run into the flagrant part of the
rule, which should completely stop any thoughts along those lines.

You could argue that Vasik's post is not sufficiently on the topic of computer
chess.  I would disagree, but it is a viewpoint I could understand.  I think
your current position is ridiculous.

I'll just add that I am particularly disappointed that you got the other
moderators to go along with you on this.
