Both different number of games and different time control are likely the reason
of differences. It is known that some engines can benefit more from longer time
than the others, resulting in rating differences. Otherwise we would all test in
blitz and be happy with that.

CEGT is doing very interesting and valuable testing. I hope you will continue,
because by looking at the ratings at different time control we will see the more
clear and complete picture of engine performances in diffferent time control.
The whole community benefits from having so many and so different approaches to
testing, and I hope we will all keep working and discussing for the common good
of computer chess.

This is an open field. Comparison is one of most natural ways to progress with
the study and discussion about engine performances. If you don't want your
results to be compared with other studies, then you should not publish them.

Do you ask this to us only, or also to other groups? Did you ask SSDF to not
compare with CEGT also? If not, then what's special about our group? We are all
just enthusiasts working for the common good of computer chess, we can learn
more if we keep friendly discussions and open mind.

I hope we will keep pieceful and friendly discussion, because a lot can be
learned from engine testing in different time controls, and because our teams
have very similar conditions other than that, so it would be natural to work
more closely together.

Best,
Kirill
