Hi all, The dual CPU version of my engine isn't quite polished enough for a public release yet, but it's getting closer. My current version seems rather stable on my dual iMac, and is clearly stronger than Glaurung 1.0.x. In order to find and fix the most serious SMP bugs before I release the new version, I would like to find a few beta testers who can run some tests on various platforms. My parallel search code uses POSIX threads, which means that it cannot be compiled for Windows without some changes. Therefore, the current version is for Linux and Mac OS X only (there will be a Windows version later, of course). If you run either of these on a dual or quad CPU machine and would like to test a highly experimental SMP version of Glaurung, please send an e-mail to moc.ssehcgnurualg@drot (written backwards, just in case some spambots are reading this forum).
