I hate time sudden death controls without increment, for exactly the reason you give. All sufficiently long games end in a competition about which engine is best at moving instantly without hanging pieces, which is just silly in my opinion. I prefer the increment (measured in seconds) to be somewhere between 1/10 and 1/4 of the base time (measured in minutes). For slow games, something like 60+15 would be fine. Tord
