Dave,You have hit the nail on the head, the H7 manual is rather vague and is written by somebody that assumes that everybody buying H7 is very computer wise, this was not the main problem thought. The extended memory option invoked by hiarcs70 -1 -x(which was to fix the hiarcs -x command that did not work on some dell computers ,I assume Dell/win.98 models)is incorrect and as Milton pointed out is H701 -l -x.Note this is an "L" not a "1"and this is what caused me so much grief. To be fair the hiarcs7 program is magnificent and beautifly laid out and a joy to own, I would recommend it to one and all. Liam.
