Yeah, whenever I need the 'facts', I go over to Yermo's page. Ohter brilliant Yermo observations: "Gata Kamsky is the best American player, and his father is a great guy too." "Joel Benjamin only won the US championship because they changed the time controls and number of rounds." "How can anybody say anything bad about Kirsan Illumsinov? I went to the Elista Olympiad, and all the people there were nice, and seemed so happy. No way Kirsan had anything to do with any journalist death. He's too busy, and too involved in making great chess events for us GM's, to be involved in anything bad. The food was good too." "Along with the usual meaningless talk, like OMOV (One man, one vote), etc. Don't you Chess people know that only the current system works, based on dictorial rule, where us GM's get all the prize money in tournaments, but you guys get to pay $200.00 entry fee's to pay our prizes. You C player's get get trouphies..." Oh yeah, and this gem; "Deep Blue is World Champion because Kasparov gave up his title to FIDE, but he is the strongest player, so everybody knows he is WORLD CHAMPION, so since Deep Blue beat him fair & square, that Makes Deep Blue champion, even though Joel Benjamin made some of the moves. After all, Kasparov can't prove that, since the Deep Blue team won't give him the printouts." OK, I made most of this up, but I just wanted to give some example's of how much I rely on GM Yermolinsky for my chess information. He is after all the Yermolater & the Best American GM. Except maybe for Seirawan and Benjamin. Besides, Rustom told me those guys were cheating Gata in every tournament, so really only Gata is the best. mrslug the inkompetent chess humorist.
