Actually about "uniform platform" vs "any computer you can get". I think it would be good to have both sorts of championships. In their own way they are both interesting. It's worth noting there have been a few uniform platform events held by Don Beal in England, although not for a couple of years now. As far as i can remember, they failed to attract a lot of the stronger programs. Maybe the programmers with the strongest programs actually like to take on the supercomputers?
