I don't think it will skew things too much having two Tigers in. I have played tourneys with 3 Crafties, 4 Rebels, 3 Tigers and 3 Hiarcs', and in none of them did this help any of them win. :) >If Crafty were playing in this group, I don't think it would end up at the >bottom of the crosstable. There are so many strong commercial programs that I only want to have one non-commercial entry, and this time LGGold2 seems very interesting to me. Expanding the schedule beyond 12 participants may be an option, but each new participant would add another two weeks playing time. >You might fill the final spot with MChess Pro. I was seriously considering it, but very very likely will not have both CM's in. However, I may change my mind again, who knows? >Is Junior 5.0 the "Junior 5.32" sometimes referred to? Yes. I only say "5.0" because there never was a 16bit version of Junior 5 anyway (except for the early beta testing phase, I think), in contrast to Fritz 5 or Hiarcs 7. >AFAIK, Rebel 10.0a has been superceded by 10.0d (which returned some things that >were stripped out between 10.0b and 10.0c.) Might as well use the latest >version, unless you have a good reason not to. My "good reason" is that I've played quite a bit of 40/120 with 10a (and was impressed) but had no time so far to test 10d in serious play (in fact, I haven't even got it yet!). And my experiences with 10c (Ed said it would probably be better against computers than 10a, but I couldn't confirm this) taught me not to switch horses shortly before a big tournament. :) --- Shep
