LambChop was fortunate to choose a quiet opening variation that traded queens early on, leading a game into strategic waters where P.Conners' heavy tactical power (it ran on 186 processors I believe) would be of less use than usual. LambChop was out of book after move 6, and P.Conners was out of book after move 9 I think. The scores of both programs were similar for much of the game (with lambChop usually being a little more optimistic), with lambchop coming out of the opening with a slight plus and increasing it steadily. I'm not sure where P.Conners went wrong, but it seemed to let white's rook into the 7th a bit too easily. It was hard to know how deep P.Conners was searching - it would say depth 8 but it is using conspiricz numbers I think so 8 apparently is more like 13 or 14 of a normal program. Well, I'm very tired - time to hunt down some food and drink... Peter
