In my opinion the programmer has taken the logical development route of first
creating a strong tactical engine and then I assume he will add positional
knowledge later. This accounts for the good results in test suites and poor
results in Comp v Comp.

This development route would also seem to be the tact of Chess Tiger as well. It
is _relatively_ easy to add positional knowledge to a program and I would
therefore expect LGGold to improve significantly in Comp v Comp matches over the
next couple of years.
