But just to point out a technicality, in football, teams use the same code in
the huddle, just so that the players do not get confused. So, if the defense
knows that a play is called within the huddle and it is not changed due to an
audible, then the next time it is called in the huddle, they would recognize it.
The quarterback does say nonsense along with coded phrases just before the snap,
but the offensive players already know what is going to happen (with the
exception of if there is an audible change at the line).

Well, I doubt chess would have ANY following at all if the participants did not
enjoy competing. I think that more people play the game to compete and have fun
than to analyze good games (although that can be fun too, I just doubt it is the
main motivating factor for participation).

Yeah, but then each game would probably last for a year or more. Sigh. :(
