I was doing some testing today, and happened to pick wac230 as one of several test cases to do some profiling with. I was quite surprised to get the following on my quad xeon: 15-> 25.00 1.76 1. ... Rh7 2. Rb1 a4 3. Ba3 Bb7 4. Kf4 Kd7 5. f3 Bc6 6. Rb2 Rh1 7. Bd6 Rc1 8. Bb4 Rh1 <HT> 16 37.14 1.77 1. ... Rh7 2. Rb1 a4 3. Bc5 Rh5 4. Kg4 Ba6 5. Bd6 Bb7 6. Ra1 Kb5 7. Rb1 Rh2 8. Rc1 Kd3 8. Rd1+ Kc2 9. Rc1+ Kd2 10. Rh1 Ke2 <HT> This is the first time Crafty has found this position... and as a result, it can now find all 300 within 60 seconds, for the first time (it has been 'stuck' on 299 for a year). I remembered Jouni asking about this position a while back. now the answer is 'yes' someone can get this one. Cray Blitz got it very quickly, but because of some eval differences + singular extensions. It is now just within Crafty's grasp (although there is no guarantee it won't become impossible again as I make other changes..:) ) Bob
