It is a general term for mail that is designed to gain the rhetorical upper hand
by threatening to remove one's self from the population.  There is usually an
outpouring of "please don't go" posts that contain comments pleading that the
suicide-ee not let that bad guy drive you to do this.  And unlike the real
thing, you get to kick back and watch the target try to work their way out from
under a pile of outraged mourners, rather than just imagining it.  And you don't
have to respond anymore since you are "dead".

It is extremely effective.  I don't know if you've ever had it done to you, but
it isn't pleasant.  I hope that by giving this technique a name, people won't do
it as much.
