Hi all, I know I've kept you waiting long enough, so here they finally are, the requested Chessmaster 6666 settings (last results: draw with Fritz, loss to Nimzo 98, both 60/game on two PIII-550; overall result now 7:3 for 6666). As I said, they are, much like the 5555 settings, a clever (?) combination of settings that were already known, namely the Bednorz settings for CM 6000 and the piece values mentioned in a recent posting, based on the big statistics survey by IM Kaufman (IIRC), with some small adaptations: Attacker/Def.: 3 Sel. Search: 10 King safety: 134 (Bednorz has 133) Mobility: 104 Mat/Pos.: -3 Passed pawns: 100 Pawn weakness: 134 (Bednorz has 133) Center control:103 Pawn: 1.0 Bishop: 3.3 (Kaufman had 3.25; this is "CM 5555 style") Knight: 3.2 (dto.) Rook: 5.0 Queen: 9.9 (Kaufman had 9.8 but suggested 9.75; Bednorz settings opp. queen: 9.7 had "queen = opp. queen + 0.2", thus this choice) The personality, along with the "Deep" and "Zero" versions, can also be downloaded from SCCS by going to the "Downloads" section (sccs.cjb.net). --- Shep
