Hey, programmers! Next year it seems that M$/Intel will throw in the garbage all of your 16-bit programs, just to force you to make another foolish upgrade to Win2000 and/or a new Pentium processor (64 bit) (and of course more memory...)(not to mention a new and fresh version of MSVC...). Isn't it a good reason to port Chess Databases and Chess Programs to LINUX ? I congratulate Dr. Hyatt for his smart vision of a good OS to choose. Couldn't Hiarcs run better on a LINUX box? What about the other top chess programs? I know of course that the US market won't easily accept LINUX, but what about the rest of the world? (Just to mention our experience, LINUX is a great success here in Brazil). I think it's time to wake up. Computer Chess deserves a better OS! A. Ponti
