When I play on ICC I have autoflag on, meaning that if my opponent runs out of time they lose. If I run out of time I lose. It would never occur to me to complain if my opponent called my flag. Having rules and following them eliminates distractions and potential arguments about whether the appropriate degree of mercy was granted, frees up more time for actually playing chess, and allows both players to look back upon the match as a hard-fought contest between two opponents who respect each other. Regarding the computer vs computer issue, if CST's own clock showed it overstepping I would probably post a bug to Oxford Softworks. If it overstepped by its own clock or by an external clock, I would simply give it a little less time to think next game. bruce
