Last week I started my first knockout tournament with the strongest winboard engines, where the main tournament time control is inspired by Vegas. The machine used is a PII-266 with 64Mb and the engines uses 16-20Mb hashtables. Here are the results of qualification and 1. round. Specification for Qualification: 3*40moves/40minutes, where presumed weakest engine plays white twice and if undecided sudden death with 25min/game (stronger engine plays white first). Qualification: Arasan5.2-Bringer1.5: ½-1½. Ant3.61-EXChess2.51: 2-1. Inmi2.17-ZChess1.20: 1½-1½. Sudden death: 0-1 (ZChess through). Fortress1.61-Gnu4.14: 0-2. Specification for 1. and 2.round: 2*40/moves/100minutes and a possible tiebreak 2*25min+10sec/game. 1.round: Crafty16.15-Gnu4.14: 2-0. Crafty15.20-ZChess1.20: 1½-½. CometB04-Ant3.61: 1½-½. LGoliath2.05-Bringer1.5: 1½-½. CometA96-LambChop7.10: 0-2. TCBishop43-LGoliath1.41a: 1½-½. Gromit2.20-Bionic4.01: 1-1 TB:1½-½. Phalanx21(Corbit)-AnMon4.26: ½-1½.
