Recently learning that a colleage had a Saitek Kasparov GK 2100 purchased in
April 1998.I jumped at the chance to throw my Mephisto Mondial 68000XL into the
ring.Purchased in July 1988.

GK2100-10MZ Risk type Processor.32K ROM,10K RAM.(To the best of my knowledge.)
Tournament book and best move activated.

68000XL -Motorola 12MZ Processor. 64K ROM, 16K RAM.Has only one general book
Best move activated.

Game in 5 to 30 min's No contest. GK2100 is the champ. GK Very tactical.
Mondial-XL slow to get started and not able to resist GK attack.

But surprise: At game in 60min's Mondial-XL won three of three and the
Mondial-XL is at least 10 years old. It
took too much time to play more games at this speed.
(The wives could or would not understand the discussions of good bad Biships and
weak squares)

The Mondial-XL seems to have a larger opening book than the GK 2100 because
often GK was out of book in five moves.GK is much more tactical but XL has a
better end game.XL seems to have a better understanding of positional chess.
It dependes on the time limit.

No records of these games were kept.Nether chess programe can print games.

I have played XL against Fritz:Big "F" 25 = XL 0.

I am trying to arrange contestes to play my old Mephisto Vancouver 16 bit
program .
It is a wooden auto-sensory board: it's just great and I am not able to win a
game against it.

Salut:Alan
