He plays games with the time control of 1hr/move, supposedly to approximate playing strength in the year 2010. In the games played to date, Crafty has the best record out of the programs tested. Granted, there haven't been many games so far, and it could be a statistical anomaly, but hopefully one can conclude that *if* Crafty is any weaker than others (Hiarcs 7, Rebel 10, Junior 5, ?), that the margin is very small. It doesn't look like any games have been played for a while...I hope Ed continues this experiment. It is something many of us (I think :) were quite interested in. Jeremiah
