Hi Robert, I'm the author of both Chess Tiger and Chess Tiger Light.

* The real Chess Tiger is MUCH stronger than the "Light" version. This has been
done on purpose, and is clearly stated in the commercial screen when you quit
the program. We wanted to allow people to try the look and feel of the program
before buying it.

* CT Light plays probably at 1900 ELO on a fast PC, the current full strength
version is above 2500. BTW the new Chess Tiger will be a full Windows program,
so the graphical user interface will be better than what you have in CT Light.
You will also have many features that are missing in the "Light" version.

* Yes I would say that Chess Tiger is a good buy. :)
In fact it WILL be a good buy, as the first commercial release we be out very
soon. To keep informed about what's going on with Chess Tiger, you can go to the
Rebel Home Page:

* If you want to have an idea of how Chess Tiger compares with current top-level
programs, you can visit the following sites:

    http://come.to/sccs (Shep's site)
    http://open.konts.lv/usr/Didzis/index.html (Didzis site)

You can also check what Chess Tiger did in the last World Computer Chess
Championship (Paderborn, June 99):

I hope this message is not going to be considered as a commercial announcement!
:)
