There _may_ be legal reasons why we don't see a specialist version of King 3.0. I think Johan de Konig worked full time for TASC and I beleive (but I'm not 100% sure) that the engine may belong to TASC. A solution that would make sense to me would be for Mindscape to license The King (2.61 or 3.0) engine to either ChessBase or Millennium Chess System, to be sold as a specialist engine. This would not detract at all from the sales of ChessMaster as it would be a completely different target audience. In my view this is just extra money for Mindscape.
