Keep up the good work! And please release versions for Linux and/or Macintosh, too! (I realise that this is probably not realistic, but it is very high on my wish list. CSTal is the main reason I need to have Windows installed on my computer... :-) >>I would also like to express my hope that Mikhail Tal will no longer be >>described as a "Russian world champion" or "Russian grandmaster" in the >>next version. Yes, I have seen it several times in advertisements from Oxford Softworks (although I can no longer find it on the Oxford Softworks web site). On GambitSoft's web site I found the following: Oxford Softworks in an ad: "Chess System Tal II is designed to play in the style of Mikhail Tal, Russian world champion, famous for his daring and attacking style of play. Rather than searching for the best move with raw computing power and little chess knowledge, Chess System Tal II considers each position based on a large amount of chess knowledge. The result is that Chess System Tal II emulates human characteristics, playing naturally and aggressively. Chess System Tal II supports every form of network play, and features an integrated interface to both free and commercial Internet Chess Servers. Play games against people from all round the world. Gain an internationally respected rating. Watch Grand Masters play live, such as Kasparov and Shirov. Attend hourly lectures on the finer points of chess strategy ... and much more. Uniquely, the engine has been written by a Master, and is the result of over 15 years of development. A sophisticated user interface with high degree of customisation provides access to all the features available in the top chess programs. Uses a vast 510 Mb library of opening moves and end game table bases." (This was found at http://www.gambitsoft.com/chess/games/tale.htm). I think I also read something similar on the box in which CSTal shipped (I am not 100% sure about this). Tord
