You may have interpreted my description as being how I do this in Crafty.
It wasn't...  the original post said that he wasn't using rotated bitmaps,
yet he seemed to be 2x faster than I am in generating moves... that was why
I was interested...

I explained how I did it before I used rotated bitmaps (looping to find the
4 blocking squares for sliders).  I do everything by table lookups now,
diagonals ranks and files...
