The copyright notice appears to me to be very recklessly written,, it says that
they retain the copyrights for the original programs that it was based on but
that that it is superseeded by GNU, my interpretation of that being that GNU now
owns all rights to the program, the third paragraph makes very little sense, it
seems to contradict itself, and I don't know who "The MSM Company" is, maybe
that means something to everyone else.

For the most part, it passes on the copyrights to GNU, and the code that I
downloaded was distributed by GNU, but it didn't contain the usual GNU copyright
text that "which gives you legal permission to copy, distribute and/or modify
the software"

It appears to be a good program though and we owe Stuart thanks for it, and I
hope it cleared up soon.
