Hi Rajen! Ok, I have to admit that my results so far are not as spectacular as the headline suggests, but they are still good... I guess most reports so far about Fritz 6 playing strength have been from beta testers about the latest beta versions, maybe the final version is somewhat better? I got my copy of Fritz 6 final version last Saturday, and have played several games since then. All in all these are 43 blitz games (g/5) and 6 games at longer time controls (60 minutes). The results are not bad, really, and if you believe it or not, Fritz 6 is currently at the top of my blitz rating list, which contains nearly 2200 games, in front of Hiarcs 7.32! Of course, 43 Blitz games are by far not enough, but nevertheless it had a good start... These are my results for the 60 minute games: (Played on two IBM/Cyrix 6x86MX PR-300, 64MB/128MB computers, pb=on of course) Fritz 6 - MChess Pro 8.0 .. 1.5-0.5 Fritz 6 - Hiarcs 7.32 ..... 1.0-1.0 (+0, =2, -0) Fritz 6 - Genius 5 ........ 1.5-0.5 This makes 4 out of 6 so far, and no defeat. (If anyone is interested in these games, please tell me, I will post them then) Some of the blitz results: (Played on one computer, pb=off - yes, I know... no discussions please! ;-) Fritz 6 - Hiarcs 7.32........ 4.0-3.0 Fritz 6 - Fritz 5.32......... 1.5-0.5 Fritz 6 - Fritz 3.10......... 1.5-0.5 Fritz 6 - Crafty 16.18....... 3.5-0.5 (Bob doesn't like pb=off games, so take this with a grain of salt!) Fritz 6 - Comet B07.......... 4.5-1.5 Fritz 6 - Phalanx 21......... 3.5-0.5 Fritz 6 - LGoliath 2000a..... 2.0-2.0 Fritz 6 - Hiarcs 6.0......... 1.0-1.0 Fritz 6 - Comet B00.......... 2.0-0.0 ...and so on. My rating list, calculated by Fritz, looks as follows: (first 10 places, please don't take the elo serious, just as an indicator for relative playing strength) ----Program----------ELO----#Games 1.. I hope to get Rebel Century during the next 2-3 days, maybe Fritz 6 will find it's master then ;-) Until then, maybe I'll play some more Fritz 6 games, eventually against CM6000 or CSTal II. Rebel Century will have to go through the same hell afterwards :) If only I had enough time, I would make these 60 min. games a complete tournament, would be really interesting I think.
