I have beaten players who were a lot better than I am. I don't even play in a club and have never played in any tournament, but I have won 3 games from a state champion (out of 13 games played) and beaten a Naval district champion in informal settings. I don't know what the ELO difference was, but it was probably enormous. [snip again]
