Right, I never played a Russian master, but I did play some IMs and GMs. The
normal thing is that my position would be slowly strangled to the point that I
seldom reached the stage where "the rest is a matter of technique, but only the
Russians have the technique". I used to be quite proud of a draw against GM
Pomar in the sixties, though, but my record against this kind of players was to
cry about.
