You are absolutely right, but I think the CM 3D-boards are just as ugly as the
rest.

There is only one program IMO with a rather nice 3D-board: VirtuaChess II (or nr
I for that part) Too bad the interface is so buggy and you can hardly move the
pieces right in full screen mode.
