I say slightly so it means the are good opponents to each other and if you play 100 games the result will be 60-40 or something. The strength of Crafty varies from version to version. It can be that Crafty 16.4 is weaker than 16.3 and 16.5 is suddenly very strong. This is because some brandnew techniques are tried out. But generally spoken the strength increases with the versions. Note that the latest crafty now is 17.1. You can download the latest Crafty engine which is compliant with Fritz from http://www.chessbase.com. Crafty 16.15 or something is the latest. To look if Crafty 16.15 is better then Crafty 16.3 you have to decide for yourself. Play 100 games or decide what you like to most. Good luck!
