The Mind Sports Olympiad and the ICCA are pleased to announce there will be a Computer Olympiad next year: 21-25 August 2000, in London, UK. Entrants will be computer programs, entered by their authors. There will be separate tournaments for each game. The following games are currently planned (others may be added if the organisers are notified of sufficient potential entries): 1. Chess 2. Shogi 3. Chinese Chess 4. 19x19 Go 5. 10x10 Draughts 6. Poker (Texas Hold'em) 7. Awari 8. Hex 9. Lines of Action 10. Amazon 11. Backgammon 12. Bridge 13. Scrabble 14. Othello The chess tournament will be jointly the ICCA's world microcomputer championship event and an olympiad event. This is a preliminary announcement, and more details will follow soon. Anyone who has authored a program, or intends to do so, and is interested in having their program compete in this event, please notify your interest to: olympiad at dcs.qmw.ac.uk.
