the hardware level was nearly equal. all progs were running on k6/3-450 till
celeron 560 and athlon 650 (the athlon is not a better chess cpu than k6/3 or
celeron. only the cycle-speed gives him a little advantage of about 20%).
only 3 progs has had a disadvantage: the winner of tournament one, rebel, on
pentium 400, virtual on P266 and nimzo on P266.
only one program (the winner in tournament 3, hiarcs) has the advantage of an
athlon 700.
