Copper is used for most wireing because it allows an electric current to flow
most easily, however, platinum is an even better conductor then copper, but it
cost more.
I think the real advance in computers will be the the one that use light as the
medium instead of electric current. There are several major companies working on
just such an item using lazer lights. The speed of these type of computers will
be beyond our comprehension at this time but it shows promise. One of the major
hang-up is the switching circuits.
Time will tell.
