Richard, I ran it to a depth of 15 or 16 ply on several Mac chess programs: Screamer depth 16 MacChess 5.0.1 depth 15 Sigma Chess Light 4.0.2 depth 8 (due to it being interpreted) Crafty 16.3 (last Mac Version) depth 15 All spend significant time at about depth 14 considering the move Ra6, but none change from the move Rxf4. Note, both Crafty and Sigma Chess find this move _very_ early in terms of depth. William wbryant@ix.netcom.com
