Subject: Chessprograms and copyprotection

How come that theres no copyprotection in chessprograms like there is in almost
all computergames??I understand from posts here and from alot of other places
and people that its very common to copy chessprograms...I buy my Fritz6 for
44dollars (upgrade) but at the same time can find the same prog to download for
free.
Wouldnt it be a very efficient way to prevent this if one used some kind of
copyprotection??
