I remember the days when I was also rated 1700, and struggling with improving my rating. In those days the only chess program available was Sargon 3, and later I bought Chessmaster 2000, and 2100. And I used these engines as sparring patners, and improved my rating to Master level. And I was running these engines in a PC-XT, with 640 KB of RAM !!! Laurence
