That I believe was a nice manoever. On the move Qg4 it is also an interesting observation that the eval of 0.23 and 0.29 are virtually equal. Here computers lack that Lasker type of psychological insight of making a move that may not be the "best" but would possibly pose more difficulties to the opponent. All through the game Hoffman was in control but now at move 35, nearing the first time control an active move like Qg4 may have proved unsettling for him.
