Visual Basic is a patented language by Microsoft and it is very restricted. One
day Visual Basic will be like COBOL an old thing because Microsoft says "It is
old, you have to BUY SUPER TRIVISUAL BASIC 3000". C/C++ are open languages.

You will see companys that will compete in order to sell you the compiler and
you surely will see better results.

If I have directly to answer a yes or no, I will say it isn't useful for
anything because:

The only reasonable advantage I found is the easier way to design GUI, but if
you want to write a nice GUI, you will need to know DIRECTX and PROBALY
DIRECT3D.

My opinion.
