Rebel-10 lost Wooooaaaaa! If Anand is 2780 FIDE Elo (from memory), then 4.5-1.5 (which is equivalent to 7.5-2.5) would yield a TPR of just under 3000 (excuse me if my quick calculation is wrong). >with 0.5-1.5 in the two 40/2h games. > >In comp-comp (SSDF for example) there is not much difference (+/- 50 elo) >playing blitz or 40/2h games. However, the SS numbers for the differences (which admittedly have been disputed in another thread, but which have been established over many years, and which are probably about right) are quite different to your numbers. From memory: (I will check these numbers later) 40/120 - Neutral G/30 - Add 80 points to computer rating G/5 - Add 250 points to computer rating Anyway, I think that both sides of this debate will be much happier when the FIDE rating is established with tournament games rather than extrapolating from blitz games. I hope that this post demonstrates both that I've done some thinking, and that I get the point you're trying to make. -g
