You are right but, as you say, it is more attractive to sponsors and Hsu depends on them since he has no money on his own. In any case, with or without title I dont think Kasparov should help a rival and potential contender. This is competitive sport, not philantropy (sp?). If I were Kasparov I would either do nothing or either make it difficult the construction of the machine. And, honestly, I believe everyone in his position would do the same thing.
