We often hear how programs have this or that weak spot and that strong humans will exploit that. What about all the strong points of a chess program? Here, as in the last Century - Russek encounter, the chess program struts it's stuff. Give them an opening and with their strength of seeing all within their horizon they can quickly rule the board. I know, stating the obvious, but having clear vision within a given depth is a strong plus for any chess player. We all know that the long range feel for a position is lacking in computers but not all chess games follow that path. I recall the writings of the chess teacher Kotov, and how he explained through example the thinking of players during these kinds of games - just a series of short sequences being adequate to build up a strong position. > >Is the time control 40/2 or something else?
