So sometimes (for instance with me) drug abuse has a very bad and negative emotional connotation. So it is best not to offend needlessly. On the other hand -- we should all do our best not to *take* offense needlessly. A wise man once said, "The taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones." So if we fly off the handle at every little slight -- whether real or imagined -- what does that say about us? ;-)
