After 7 years, the patent will expire.  But I think something will happen with
it before then.  If Hsu does not want to pursue it himself, perhaps he can let
others build the chip on royalties.  I'll bet some entrepeneur would be
interested in that approach.

Time will tell, but I don't think the chips will lay on the drawing board
forever.  Someone will make use of the design, whether Hsu, an outside investor,
or someone who just waits for the patent to expire.
